BJP leader’s concern over water crisis in Sadapora

SRINAGAR, June 20: Ashok Bhat, district president BJP Srinagar today expressed grave concern over the water scarcity problem being faced by the people of Sadapora area in Ganderbal.
Bhat, who along with Majid Khan visited Sangam area of Eidgah in Srinagar and Sadapora in Ganderbal urged the authorities to solve the water scarcity problem on war footing basis in Sadapora area where the people had taken to streets and blocked road.
Bhat took up the issue with Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti, Ganderbal and urged him to take immediate steps in redressing the problem of the water scarcity as people of the area are facing water crisis in this hot Summer when the demand of water increases considerably.
He pacified the agitating people who on his intervention and assurance called off their protest.
Bhat also expressed concern over the fire incident in a holy shrine in Sangam, Eidgah area of Srinagar.
The locals of the area alleged that shrine has been set on fire by some miscreants thereby promoting hatred among the different sects of the people in the area.
Terming it a grave issue he demanded a thorough investigation. He said keeping in view the sensitivity of the issue concerned Government agencies are requested to swing into prompt action and bring the culprits within the ambit of law for exemplary punishment and ensure such cowardly acts do not occur in future. He also assured the people of the area for the prompt action.
