BJP leader’s son to contest independently from Akhnoor

JAMMU, Nov 8: Advocate Ashish Sharma, the son of senior BJP leader Kuldeep Sharma today announced that he would contest upcoming Assembly elections as an independent candidate from Akhnoor constituency.
While announcing his decision of contesting elections, Ashish said his father initially served Congress party for 15 years but he was ditched by the party in at the time of election by giving ticket to somebody else and in 2008 elections when Govind Ram lost election on BJP ticket his father was requested by BJP to stand the party in Akhnoor and my father toiled hard for the purpose.
But like Congress, BJP also cheated my father by giving ticket to somebody else, Ashish said, adding as my father has been bound in party discipline and cannot contest elections, I have decided to contest elections.
Seeking support for him in the elections, he assured the public that if he is voted to power, he would provide job to every unemployed youngster.
