JAMMU, Aug 12: BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas, alongwith other senior leaders of the Party addressed a public meeting at village Chachwal after paying personal visit to the spot where a tunnel from across the border into Indian territory has been constructed, which has send shock waves across the state.
Mr Manhas, while terming the digging of this tunnel as an attack on the security of the country, said that Pakistan, after failing to achieve its ulterior designs in different wars, has now changed its strategy to push armed terrorists from across the border. It is unfortunate that the Union Government as well as State Government non serious over this serious matter, he added.
Expressing grave concern over the plight of the farmers of Chachwal and adjoining villages, Manhas said that due to ill planning of the Government, the living conditions of the people near borders have not improved. They are still deprived of basic amenities and proper health and educational facilities.
