RAMNAGAR,  Feb 10: Former minister and JKNPP chairman Harshdev Singh today alleged that BJP is literally begging before the PDP for the formation of Government.
“With the PDP having toughened its stand on its fundamentals and fulfillment of its election time promises as a precondition for alliance with BJP, the Saffron Party’s only agenda appeared to be to enthrone itself by hook or crook,” said Harshdev while addressing public rally here today.
He said the PDP which is Kashmir centric party has delivered a message with its native bluntness that it refuses to compromise on its principles and that its election manifesto is sacrosanct to it. He said that PDP’s demands for CBMs, on assurances for revocation of AFSPA, withdrawal of troops, talks with separatists, denial of separate homeland to Kashmiri migrants, return of Hydro Power Projects, status quo on Art 370 etc should be an eye opener for mandated leaders of Jammu who have sacrificed all their election time promises for the lust of power. He regretted that the BJP had not only failed to counter the illegitimate demands of PDP but had also surrendered on Jammu related issues.
Strongly flaying the shameful conduct of the BJP, the NPP leader called upon the Jammu based BJP leaders to assert for incorporation of Jammu centric issues in the ‘Agenda of Alliance’ in case they had the slightest concern for sentiments of their electorates. He regretted that BJP was literally begging before PDP with Ram Madhav again announcing to meet Mehbooba in an attempt to persuade her to take BJP as its junior partner. He said that re-formation of the Govt solely on the conditions of  PDP would be the biggest dent on the Dogra pride which would not only be suicidal for the Saffron brigade but an unforgivable misadventure on the part of BJP.
Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Thakur Dass, Dev Singh, Pavan Dev, Bishan Dass, Satyarath Pati Sharma and Kashturi Lal.
