BJP Mahila Morcha activists celebrating birthday of Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia at Jammu on Sunday.

JAMMU, Oct 13: On the occasion of birth anniversary of the first national president  BJP Mahila Morcha  Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia, Jammu and Kashmir BJP Mahila Morcha organised Kanjak Pujan in the  premises of  historic Peer Kho,  where the morcha leaders and activists under the leadership of their State president Priya Sethi worshiped 101 kanyas.
Priya Sethi, while speaking on the life of Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia, said that she was born in a very high family and had all the privileges and facilities which a common Indian female could not even dream of but for her these things hardly mattered as she was pained to see the plight of the women in India and left all luxuries of life to come out and work for the cause and welfare of her sisters. These were the days when rare women could have the courage to work in the male dominated society and agitate for the rights of others.
Priya said that today her birthday, which coincided with the Kanjak Pujan days of Navratras, has made all of us to educate the society about the importance of females in the society, in the family and in the nation making. She said that the females in Hindus in particular, have been showered with very much respect by the God but still they are treated as burden, they are discriminated and even killed before their births, which is very unfortunate. She said that the Mahila Morcha has taken pledge on this day to work for the honour, dignity, welfare, upliftment and equal treatment to females in all matters and at all levels. They will work together in unison to fight for good against evil.
A large number of BJP and Mahila Morcha leaders including Suresh Jamwal (National executive member) Yudhvir Sethi (Incharge Jammu Poonch Parliament Constituency), Mamta Singh (State Secreatry), Vikram Randhawa,  Anuradha Charak, Anju Dogra, Sangeeta Gupta, Parveen Arora, Sangeeta Anand, Urmil Gupta,  Rakesh Dogra, Surinder Anand and others took part in this programme.
