ANANTNAG, Dec 5: One day BJP Mahila Morcha convention was organised by State Executive Member, Rumisa Rafiq here, today.
Party Mahila Morcha State president, Rajni Sethi was chief the guest in the programme. Other BJP leaders who were present included MLC & State vice president of the party, Sofi Mohd Yousuf, former Minister & State spokesperson ,BJP, Priya Sethi, Mahila Morcha, general secretary, Sangeeta Dogra, national Executive Member, Neelam Ghash, National Executive Member and councilor Anantnag, Sheela Handoo Kaul and Rashida.
All the dignitaries were given a warm welcome by the organizers and later the ladies Sarpanchs and Panchs who were invited in the program.
MLC, Sofi Yousf in his address welcomed the women from other parties coming into BJP fold. He said the time has changed when BJP was called an untouchable and now not only the people in large number from majority community in Kashmir but the women folk of the Valley also has realized that it is the BJP only which is wedded to the welfare of common man especially the women folk.
He also complimented the efforts of State president of the Morcha, Rajni Sethi and former Minister, Priya Sethi in this regard. He also wished a good luck to the newly elected women councilors and Panches and Sarpanches of the party and expressed the hope that they will work with dedication and enthusiasm to solve the problems of the people in their respective wards and Panchyat Halqas.
BJP district president, Anantnag Rafiq Wani who was also present on the occasion in his speech complimented the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi saying that the policies and welfare programmes launched by him have immensely benefitted the people in this border State and it will also lead to strengthening the party in Valley.
Priya Sethi in her speech said that “I am very happy to see such a great program being organised which shows strength of the party at Anantnag”.
She said more and more women are coming forward to join hands with BJP for their empowerment and development of their respective areas.
She appealed the ladies present in the programme to visit every nook and corner of the district to educate people about the pro people policies of Narendra Modi Government.
