Jammu, Apr 5: In a massive protest held at Digiana Chowk in Gandhi Nagar Assembly constituency on Friday under the leadership of BJP Mahila Morcha State President Priya Sethi, morcha activists raised slogans against the present NC-Congres Coalition Government demanding its immediate dismissal. The protest was organised by Mahila Morcha State general Secretary Anuradha Charak.
Priya Sethi, while addressing the Morcha activists on the occasion, said that people had elected coalition partner parties of this Government in 2008 with high hopes of development, welfare and defeat of anti-national elements but unfortunately what has happened is contrary to the expectations of the people.
During the last over four years of this coalition, there has been total neglect of the matters related to development, upliftment of the weaker sections. Farmers, unemployed youth, refugees, migrants, pensioners, employees, all are seen on roads agitating for the redressal of their genuine demands. Instead of paying attention to their cries, they are treated as criminals and beaten up mercilessly, which is the only achievement of the Omar Abdullah led Government.
Priya Sethi said that on one side the Government has adopted complete negative approach towards genuine demands and grievances of common masses, on the other it has started treating the anti-national elements as “VIPs” pre-fixing the title of “Saheb” with their names. She said that how much concern this Government has for anti-national elements became crystal clear during the curent session of the State Assembly where people like Afzal Guru and Liyaqat Ali were discussed with pride and any one who opposed this attitutde was either suspended on false allegations or thrown out forcibly. She said that in view of present situation, it has become all the more necessary that Governor uses his authority and recommend dismissal of NC-Congres coalition to restore faith of masses in the democratic institutions.
