JAMMU, June 16: BJP’s State Mahila Morcha today organized a programme to honour the women who have excelled in their respective fields.
The event was first at the State level followed by a series of events to remember Rani Laxmi Bai at every district. The programme was organized by State president, Purnima Sharma.
BJP State president, Ravinder Riana (MLA) along with Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta, BJP State general secretary & Incharge Jammu, Harinder Gupta, Suresh Jamwal, Usha Choudhary and other senior leaders graced the occasion.
Updesh Andotra from Prayas Group (Self Help Group), Kamini Gupta, Neelam Nagotra, Asha Sharma and others prominent women were felicitated on the occasion. About 70 female vistaraks were also felicitated in appreciation of their work.
Ravinder Raina, while addressing Mahila Morcha gathering, said that women have the additional responsibility to maintain working balance between the family and the society especially in Indian scenario. He prompted them to follow the ideology and footsteps of Rani Laxmi Bai for making India “Vishav Guru”.
Kavinder Gupta enumerated various public welfare schemes launched by Centre and State Governments. While highlighting Modi Government’s achievements of 4 years, he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Government at the Centre has taken various land mark decisions to uplift the status of women in the society.
Harinder Gupta, while deliberating on the role of organization termed women as the basis of society. While applauding the Mahila Morcha’s initiatives, he said that women hold key to reformed and civilized society while injecting the very spirit of humanism and patriotism in the world.
Purnima Sharma, while recalling life history of Rani Laxmi Bai said that women have glorious stories of valour, sacrifice and contribution in the history of Indian society. She stressed that women in the present time have to take lead role in eradicating evils from the society.
