JAMMU, Dec 2: Former minister and senior Congress leader, Mula Ram today said that people should vote and support the right candidate in the ongoing District Development Council (DDC) elections.
Addressing a public gathering and party workers’ meeting in support of Congress candidate Rajinder Kumar in Marh area today, Mula Ram appealed the people to support and vote for Congress party which has addressed the aspirations of the masses for last 70 years.
“People should not fall prey to the hate politics and anti-people policies of BJP. The saffron party has badly failed to address the issues of public,” Congress leader said and added that BJP has from time to time deprived the masses and not addressed their grievances from the time BJP came into power at the Centre in 2014. Besides the saffron party has betrayed the people of Jammu and degraded the Dogra state and its historic heritage. “BJP has even failed to follow its own mandate which its showcased in the 2014 elections for the people of J&K,” he said.
The former minister said that since the people of respective localities know their local candidates as well, so they should chooses the Congress Party candidates in the DDC elections so that their real representation would be carried out post elections.
Mula Ram said that for 70 years of power, Congress is the only party that has done uncountable developments in diverse fronts across the country and in the erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir; hence the development on the same pattern is in the mandate/plan of Congress in further elections.
“Congress has kept and fulfilled promises which it had done with the people of Jammu; the ground situation and development is the witness for that. All the developmental works so far carried across the Jammu divisions are done by the Congress while BJP has only misled and diverted the people.”
Hari Singh Chib, DCC Rural president appealed to the people of Block Marh whole heartedly to lend their support and vote Congress party to power so that their issues left pending for years together by BJP would be addressed and true public representation would be done from the grass root level.
