JAMMU, Feb 27: The BJP MLA from Marh Constituency Ch Sukhnandan expressed shock over the damage caused to standing crops of farmers by hailstorm this evening.
In a statement he said that entire standing crops and vegetables were destroyed by the hailstorm in his Constituency. He said earlier this month the crops had already suffered a heavy loss due to hailstorm and today entire crop was damaged.
He said the villages of Suhajna, Flai Mandal, Sangrampura, Akhalpur, Durgo Chak, Marh, Jaswa, Parwa, etc in his Constituency were worst hit by today’s hailstorm.
Ch Sukhnandan in an appeal to the Government urged it that a team of experts from Revenue Department be constituted to visit the villages and assess the loss so that the people are properly compensated.
He also demanded supply of free ration and fertilizers to the people of his constituency.
