JAMMU, Apr 29: In continuation of their campaign for establishment of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Jammu, four BJP MLAs today called on Union Health Minister, J P Nadda in Union capital and submitted a memorandum to him.
The BJP MLAs delegation included Sat Sharma (CA), Sham Choudhry, Rajesh Gupta and Rajeev Sharma. They while putting forth their demand before the Union Health Minister said Jammu is the fittest case for establishment of a premier Medical Institute as the region has been neglected constantly by previous regimes so far as health care facilities are concerned.
The MLAs said that there is no premier medical institute in the region which is area and population wise bigger than other two regions of the State and people have either to travel Chandigarh or New Delhi for specialized medicare facilities.
Mr Nadda informed the delegation that he will discuss the issue with Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to find an everlasting solution to the problem. He also assured the delegation that there will be no discrimination with Jammu region and all steps will be taken to remove the regional imbalances.
