Nadda, Santosh among top leaders to tutor legislators

JAMMU, Feb 25: Ahead of Budget Session of the J&K Legislative Assembly, all the BJP MLA will undergo a thorough training as the party is organizing a two-day `Prashikshan Shivir’ for them on February 28 and March 1, at the holy town Katra.
BJP National President, J P Nadda, National General Secretary (Organization) B L Santosh, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, General Secretary and Incharge J&K, Tarun Chug, Joint Secretary Organization, Shiv Prakash, Vinay Sahasrabuddhe among others will tutor the party MLAs during the two-day `Prashikshan Shivir’.
Besides, J&K BJP President Sat Sharma, General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul, Member of Parliament Jugal Kishore, MP (Rajya Sabha) Engineer Ghulam Ali Khatana and some other senior BJP leaders will also attend the workshop for training the party MLAs.
Sources in the BJP circles told the Excelsior that the two-day training workshop will focus on key public issues, legislative strategy and the legislative party’s approach in the Assembly, setting the tone for an active and engaged participation in the upcoming Budget Session.

The workshop was necessitated as most of the party MLAs are first timer and need to be apprised of the strategic approach for their effectiveness in the Assembly, sources added.
Pertinent to mention that most of the BJP MLAs in the present Assembly have been elected for the first time. Except Leader of Opposition, Sunil Sharma, former ministers Sham Lal Sharma, Chander Prakash Ganga, Devender Manyal among nine, remaining 19 MLAs of BJP have been elected to the Assembly for first time.
As already reported, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh had also convened a luncheon meeting of BJP MLAs at his residence in Trikuta Nagar Jammu on last Sunday and discussed the strategy to deal with ruling party members in the House.
Sources said that the two-day ‘Prashikshan Shivir’ will have total ten sessions, including concluding session, in which some former MLAs and local senior leaders will also participate.
B L Santosh will arrive here on February 27 evening for remaining present in all five sessions on first day of the `Prashikshan Shivir’ on February 28 while J P Nadda and Dr Jitendra Singh will attend the workshop on March 1, sources informed.
“Thorough discussion on organizational and public issues, current affairs, challenges for the legislative group and the strategy for a pro-active role to effectively handle all these issues inside as well as outside the Assembly House will be main focus of the two- day workshop,” sources explained, emphasizing the significance of training sessions for fine-tuning the party’s strategy.
All the 28 BJP MLAs have been directed to attend the two-day `Prashikshan Shivir’, which will commence on February 28 at 8 AM. After the day-long sessions, the MLAs will stay at Katra and return only on next day after the concluding session.
