JAMMU, Apr 22: Chief  spokesperson of J&K BJP, Sunil Sethi today said that BJP doesn’t approve of people taking law in their own hands and attacking people suspected of committing crime against cow as also hurting religious sentiments of a segment of society.
He said while it is deplorable that people indulge in cow slaughter in the State despite the fact that such offence can’t be pardoned as it is a crime under Ranbir Penal Code, nobody can be allowed to take law in its own hands as that will lead to chaos and lawlessness.
Sethi further asked the people to report matter to police and administration against any such incident where the party will ensure that proper action will be taken against culprits. He said that nobody who is involved in this heinous crime will be spared and wherever needed, the party will provide support to prosecution.
He noted that the State is passing through very difficult phase and attempts are being made to vitiate atmosphere of the State to create problem in forthcoming annual Amarnath Yatra. He called upon all to join together to ensure peace in the State and at the same time supremacy of law should also be maintained. He called upon all citizens to honour and respect religious sentiments of each other so that communal harmony is maintained.
