BJP not to leave Wayanad for Congress: Navya Haridas

WAYANAD, Oct 23 : The BJP will not leave the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency to the Congress’ rule, asserted BJP-led NDA candidate Navya Haridas on Wednesday.

Addressing a party meeting at Nilambur, she claimed that “today’s statement of Rahul Gandhi, made at Wayanad himself, points that “Wayanad will have two MPs if Priyanka Gandhi-Vadra is elected.”

It is considered as a declaration of the Congress party that a poor person will be installed in the constituency, she also alleged that Rahul Gandhi, as an MP, did nothing for the development of Wayanad during his tenure from 2019 to 2024.

She said that today’s visit by the younger generation of the Nehru-Gandhi family to Wayanad “can only considered as that of the tourists who have come to see Wayanad.”

On other hand, the BJP led NDA is fighting for the recovery of Wayanad and the people of this constituency need an MP who stands with them at their need of hour and will raise their issues in parliament, she pointed.

Ms Haridas recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally had reached Wayand to console the landslide survivors.

She alleged that the Kerala government has so far not given even the relief aid granted by the Union Government to the survivors.

BJP is asking for votes in this by-election by putting the development agenda of the NDA government, she added.

Ms Haridas will file the nomination for the Wayanad LS constituency by-election on Thursday (tomorrow). (UNI)
