JAMMU/SRINAGAR, Feb 9: In connection with former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birth centenary celebration programme, Bharatiya Janata Party today organized events in Jammu as well as in Kashmir.
On the occasion in Jammu, J&K BJP president, Sat Sharma felicitated Adv Chander Mohan Sharma, a senior leader of BJP for his close association with Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Sat Sharma, speaking on the occasion, said that BJP is celebrating the birth centenary year of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and a series of programmes are going to be held throughout the year, in this connection. He informed that the Party leaders are felicitating the prominent persons from the society who have worked with Vajpayee. He said that since his childhood, Chander Mohan Sharma dedicated himself to the nation, society and organization and also remained in constant touch with Vajpayee till his active political life.
Chander Mohan Sharma appreciated the kind gesture by the party, adding that the people especially the senior activists are enthusiastic to contribute in the various programmes to be organized under the birth centenary year of former Prime Minister Vajpayee. Emphasizing that the memories related to Vajpayee cannot be summarized in a few minutes, as his every appearance left an unforgettable mark on the hearts of people from across the regions and religions.
Adv Rajesh Gupta, president, BJP district Jammu, Reema Padha, Ranjodh Singh Nalwa, Suneet Raina and others were also present on the occasion.
BJP Kashmir unit also commemorated the birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee by hosting a series of events. Participants reflected on Vajpayee’s leadership, emphasizing his remarkable ability to guide the nation through challenging times.
On the occasion, Ashok Koul, BJP general secretary (Organization) for J&K, highlighted Vajpayee’s profound connection with the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Senior leaders Ashraf Azad and Mushtaq Noorabadi shared personal recollections of their time with Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Ashok Koul reaffirmed that the leadership and contributions of Atal Bihari Vajpayee continue to inspire the nation, and the BJP is dedicated to promoting his ideals across Kashmir.
Senior leaders Altaf Thakur, Mudasir Wani, Sajid Yousuf Shah, Sheikh Bashir, Salinder Singh, Showkat Gayoor, Program incharge Central Kashmir Khalid Baqaal, South Kashmir Incharge Abid Husain Nangroo, North Kashmir Incharge Fida Hussain and Program Media Incharge Kashmir Showkat Shah were also present on the occasion.
