JAMMU, Mar 20: J&K BJP remembered Pt Prem Nath Dogra, popularly known as Sher-e-Duggar, on his death anniversary at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar here, today.
J&K BJP vice-president, Yudhvir Sethi, J&K BJP general secretary, Vibodh Gupta, BJP Headquarter in charge and former Minister, Priya Sethi, secretary, Arvind Gupta, Morcha incharge, Munish Sharma, Women Wing president, Sanjita Dogra, Tilak Raj Gupta, Balbir Ram Rattan, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra and other senior leaders paid floral tributes to Pt. Prem Nath Dogra on the occasion.
Yudhvir Sethi said that Pt. Prem Nath Dogra was a tall leader of J&K who worked for total integration of Jammu & Kashmir with the rest of India. Popularly known as Sher-e-Duggar, he was instrumental in forming Jammu Praja Parishad Party (JPPP) to raise the voice of nationalist forces. He said that Pt. Dogra also served as national president of Bharatiya Jana Sangh.
Vibodh Gupta said the dream of Pt. Dogra has been fulfilled by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi in Jammu & Kashmir with the abrogation of Article 370 and total unification of J&K with the rest of India. He said that Pt. Dogra was equally respected by his opponents as well as he always raised voice for the rights of downtrodden and suppressed. He said that Pt. Prem Nath Dogra will always remain a source of inspiration to party men. He said that the veteran leader became a symbol of simplicity and made an impression in the hearts of common masses.
Priya Sethi said that while leading the Praja Parishad agitation with the slogan “Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan, Ek Pradhan” Pt. Prem Nath Dogra marked an uprising for the common population of the region. He narrated the events which took Dogra to such a high position that he came to be called as “Sher-e-Duggar”.
