JAMMU, Apr 11: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) celebrated birth anniversary of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule as the Samajik Nyay Saptah. In this connection functions were held at different places in which glowing tributes were paid to this great personality who dedicated his entire life for the service of humanity.
To pay tribute to Jyotiba Phule a function was organised under the presidency of Rekha Mahajan district president BJP Jammu South, in the presence of patty general secretary (Org) Ashok Koul, former Deputy CM, Kavinder Gupta, Deputy Mayor, Baldev Singh Billowria, DDC Prof. Garu Ram Bhagat, State president, OBC Morcha, Sunil Prajapati, Seh Prabhari, Jammu North, Vinay Gupta, former MLC, Vikram Randhawa, Mandal president, Gandhi Nagar, Bharat Bhushan at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar here today.
Ashok Koul, while paying tribute to Mahatma Jyotiba Phule said he was an iconic social reformer who strove tirelessly to dismantle caste barriers and social inequalities. Koul also recalled Jyotiba Phule’s towering contribution to social justice and empowering the downtrodden. He said his thoughts give hope and strength to millions.
Kavinder Gupta, while paying tribute to social activist Mahatma Phule said that Mahatma Phule is widely respected as the champion of social justice and a source of hope for countless people. Recollecting the great personality, Kavinder Gupta said Mahatma Phule was a multifaceted personality who worked tirelessly for social equality, women empowerment, and boosting education.
In her presidential address, Rekha Mahajan said that April 11 is celebrated each year as Jyotiba Phule Jayanti in the country in honor of this great social activist, and reformer from Maharashtra. She said, Phule worked towards the eradication of untouchablity and the caste system in India.
The vote of thanks was presented by OBC Morcha district president Vijay Dogra.
To pay tribute to Jyotirao Govindrao Phule an impressive programme was organized by OBC Morcha of BJP’s Talab Tillo Mandal. Former Minister and Ex MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma (CA) along with district president BJP Jammu, Pramod Kapahi, UT President, OBC Morcha, Sunil Prajapati, Mandal president, BJP, Keshav Chopra and several others paid tributes and remembered the works done by Phule.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that Jyotirao Phule was a prominent social reformer, philosopher, and writer who played a crucial role in women’s education and the upliftment of the oppressed castes in India during the British rule.
Pramod Kapahi, Sunil Prajapati and Keshav Chopra also paid tributes to this great social reformer.
