JAMMU, Mar 18: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), paid rich tributes to the Manohar Parrikar , former Defence Minister of India and Chief Minister of Goa here at party Headquarter, Trikuta Nagar today.
BJP State president, Ravinder Raina, Union MoS in PMO, Dr. Jitendra Singh, MP (Lok Sabha), Jugal Kishore Sharma, former Dy. CM, Kavinder Gupta, State general secretary (Org., Ashok Kaul, MLC Ashok Khajuria and former Minister, Sat Sharma (CA), along with all the other senior leaders from State paid rich tributes to the departed leader.
Ravinder Raina, while remembering the Manohar Parrikar, who died yesterday, said that the Bharat Mata has lost a truly devoted leader. He said that Parrikar was a true son of the soil who served the nation till his last breath even though he was suffering from a debilitating illness. Parrikar could be seen in action up till his last breath, so much was his level of dedication towards his duties. Following the principle of “simple living and high thinking”, very few men can even think to achieve that mental level, Raina said and added that Parrikar will continue to live in our hearts, our memories for eternity.
Dr Jitendra Singh, while paying tributes, remembered Parrikar’s contributions in the smooth and successful running of affairs in the Government headed by PM Modi. Citing certain examples, he said that with the loss of Parrikar a void has been created, which cannot be fulfilled.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, while paying tributes, said that by his working, Parrikar had set certain standards, that should be influencing the lives of a person living in public life. He said that his life history will act as a beacon for the coming generations.
Ashok Kaul, while paying tributes, threw light on the life history and works of Manohar Parrikar. He said that Parrikar lived a life of saint, untouched and unmoved by the world evils. His simplicity, clarity, clean image will continue to inspire us all, Kaul added.
Meanwhile, Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) president, Kundan Kashmiri has also expressed his grief and sorrow over the demise of Parikar whom he termed a real Swayamsevak. He said Parrikar was a great leader whose simple living, honest approach and dedication will inspire us all to work with great devotion for the motherland. He while saluting Parrikar, said in his demise nation has lost a great leader.
