BJP pays Rs 5.5 lakh to Uttarakhand martyr’s wife

JAMMU, Oct 19: BJP MP and Prabhari J&K Avinash Roy Khanna today handed over a draft of Rs five lakh from the Party along with a message from Party’s national president Raj Nath Singh and a cheque of Rs 50,000 to Reenu Rani wife of ITBP Inspector, Bhim Singh of village Bobiya Hiranagar who laid down his life on June 25 during rescue operations at Kedarnath in Uttarakhand where the natural calamity spelled a doom on June 16 and 17 this year.
The draft, cheque and message of Raj Nath Singh were handed over to Reenu Rani in presence of Partymen at BJP Office Kachi Chawni this evening by Mr Khanna who described Mr Singh a bold and courageous soldier.
He said without caring for his live Mr Singh swung into rescue operations with other members of his team to save the trapped people at holy shrine of Kedarnath.
Paying rich tributes to Mr Singh he said the late soldier of ITBP exhibited tremendous courage and valor during the rescue operations and he showed such a commitment in his mission that he did not care for his own life.
He said the entire nation feels proud of such brave soldiers and the BJP tried to provide some succor to the family though amount paid by us is much less in comparison to sacrifice of Mr Singh.
He asked Reenu Rani that in case of any problem in future whether regarding education of her children or any thing else she can approach the Party and it will feel pleasure in helping the family.
Later talking to reporters Mr Khanna expressed grave concern over ceasefire violations on LoC and IB by Pakistan and said that within a day 14-15 times cease fire violation in one area is a serious issue and Centre should give befitting reply to Pakistan.
Earlier speaking on the occasion BJP State president Jugal Kishore Sharma termed the Kedarnath disaster a worst kind of tragedy in the country and said Bhim Singh made supreme sacrifice in rescuing the trapped people at holy shrine of Kedarnath.

Two brothers of Bhim Singh, BJP senior leader from Hiranagar, Thakur Ranjit Singh, lambardar, Panchs and Sarpanch of the area accompanied Reenu Rani to BJP office.
