‘BJP-PDP’ abandoned projects started by ‘Cong-NC’: Manohar

JAMMU, Dec 21: Former minister and senior Congress leader Dr Manohar Lal Sharma has alleged that projects launched by Congress-NC regime were abandoned by the `BJP-PDP’ in the State.
While addressing the public meetings at Dyalachak, Dinga Amb, Ramkote and Chinji Makwal in Billawar constituency today, Sharma criticized the BJP led Government, for abandoning many development projects initiated by the previous Congress led Government in the State. He made special mention of the five Medical Colleges sanctioned by the former Union Health Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad in the state and said that BJP failed to complete even a single college during last four years.
The DCC president alleged that due to mis-governance of BJP, common masses are feeling deceived. He said the previous four years’ budget and the present budget by Governor also failed to address the burning issue of unemployment due to which youths are feeling dejected and hopeless. He requested the Governor to fill up the vacant vacancies lying in various departments on priority.
He also requested the Governor to look into the issue of regularization of teachers and daily wagers in different departments which is a long pending demand and make sure they get their pending wages released at the earliest. He said people are fed up of the hollow promises of BJP and have realized that Congress is the only option.
While referring to the day today problems being faced by the people regarding scarcity of drinking water, electricity, bad conditions of roads, shortage of ration, discrimination in allotments of funds in various schemes such as MNREGA, widow /old age pension etc, Sharma assured the people to take up their issues with the concerned authorities. The people alleged that from past more than a year, they have been denied NREGA payments by the concerned RDD authorities.
