JAMMU, July 1: A man drowned in river Tawi at Kattal Katal area, falling under the jurisdiction of Nagrota Police Station.
As per police sources, a man identified as Balbir Singh, son of Des Raj, a resident of Abdal, tehsil Suchetgarh got drowned in river Tawi while taking bath during religious function of the family at Baba Pad Devtaat Kattal Katal area.
After getting information, a team from Nagrota Police Station led by Inspector Deepak Pathania rushed to the spot along with SDRF team and started operation, but could not fish out the body due to muddy water.
The search operation will resume tomorrow morning.
Nagrota police has taken cognizance in this regards.
