BJP-PDP Govt has failed to tackle Kashmir issue: Balbir

BILLAWAR, Dec 24: Condemning the Pakistan attack on Indian Army at Naushera sector, resulting in sacrifice of four lives including a Major, the senior Congress leader and MLC Balbir Singh said that the Jammu and Kashmir Government has failed to tackle Kashmir issue and maintaining peace in the Valley.
He said that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi during the elections had announced to teach the lesson to Pakistan but has failed in doing so.
The indiscriminate firing forced the border residents to migrate from the border and suffer huge loses.
Balbir said this during a function of Congress today to celebrate elevation of Rahul Gandhi as its president.
A large number of Congress activists gathered under the leadership of Balbir in the presence of GL Chalotra, ex-MLA, advocate Pankaj Basotra, senior  Congress leader from Billawar, Paramjit Singh, State General Secretary, Pradesh Youth Congress and Ch Karan Singh, convenor Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Sangathan in which large number of people participated.
Balbir expressed his gratitude to the Congress party delegates across the nation for proposing the name of Rahul Gandhi as president, and said that his elevation will boost the ground level workers and party will sweep the coming Parliament elections in 2019 and Rahul Gandhi will lead the nation.
He also expressed his anguish over withdrawing of the cases against the stone pelters in Kashmir and move towards releasing of separatist and political prisoners.
He also said that the amnesty policy of the BJP-PDP Government would prove detrimental to the national interest.
“This move will demoralise the armed forces who are fighting with the militants to bring peace and tranquillity in the State at the risk of their lives,” Balbir said.
Balbir also questioned the Government as to why they failed to withdraw the cases against the youth of Jammu who took part in various agitations like Amarnath land row etc.
He further said that the BJP which is considering themselves as the Jaichands of Jammu people have not uttered a single word against this move.
Sham Lal, Pankaj Basotra and Paramjit Singh also spoke on the occasion.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Madan Lal, Daya Ram, Budhi Singh, Brij Lal, Jagdish Singh, Narinter Sharma, Govind Ram and all Sarpanchs.
