JAMMU, Nov 20: Senior Congress leader and former Minister Sham Lal has alleged that PDP-BJP Government was misleading the people and it has failed to fulfill promises made with the people before elections.
Addressing meeting of Congress workers at  Maira Mandrian in Akhnoor today,   Sham Lal said that the people of Jammu region who had high hopes from BJP were feeling extremely disappointed over the highly timid approach of the BJP towards the issues of Jammu region as well as the concerns of unemployed youth. He said the BJP, who calls itself as ‘so called’ caretakers of Jammu has stabbed them in their back.
He called upon the people of Jammu region to get united on common issues irrespective of their political affiliations in order to wage a decisive battle against the perpetuated bias of the BJP-PDP coalition against the Dogra. He alleged that  MNREGA programme has been  virtually packed up by BJP in the rural areas which has added woes to the suffering of poor masses. All major projects under construction which were sectioned by Congress-NC Government have stood still due to no fresh allocation of funds.
He warned BJP-PDP Govt to stop harassment of Government employees who are working with honesty but since refuse to dance on the tune of new political leaders. Mr Sharma urged upon coalition Ministers and their representatives to concentrate on providing desired governance instead of launching political vendetta. He further alleged that PM did not address any of the issues pertaining to refugees from Pakistan, internally-displaced KPs and displaced persons from PoK. Even he remained silent on the issue of AIIMS for Jammu and Smart City status for winter capital.
Prominent among others present on the occasion included Kuldeep Verma, Ram Saroop Shrama and several Sarpanchs and party functionaries.
