JAMMU, Sept 26: Former Minister Raman Bhalla today alleged that PDP-BJP Government failed in addressing critical issues of the State.
Addressing public gathering after accompanying party candidates for filing nomination papers for MC polls today here in Gandhi Nagar constituency, Bhalla said there was no sign of governance in the State. He said what development do the previous Government talk about , they were busy in cutting ribbons of projects started and at times even completed during the tenure of the previous Government.
“If you want to blame the previous Government on issues that you yourself have failed, you should also appreciate and praise the previous Government for these projects and developmental works”, Bhalla added.
He alleged, “PDP-BJP Government has proved disastrous for the people of J&K as since formation of this unholy alliance alienation of people increased with every passing day and credibility of the Government had reached to its lowest ebb”.
Bhalla further added that every region and sub-region of the State was bearing brunt of the wrong policies of this coalition regime. The outgoing PDP-BJP which governed the State from March 2015 to June 2018 has not completed any project out of the total 28 listed by its Planning, Development and Monitoring Department (PDM) as ‘major projects’.
He said honesty and political morality demanded the BJP to admit its failures and apologise to the people, who have undergone a nightmarish era in the past over three years. Bhalla wondered over the self-condemnation unleashed by the BJP and asked as to who stopped it from fulfilling the promises made to the people of Jammu.
Bhalla referred to setting up of AIIMS and three Medical Colleges in the Jammu region, SMART City project, implementation of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana, Artificial Lake Project, Tawi River Front Project on the pattern of Sabarmati Project and so on, saying these were the portfolios held by the BJP ministers. How can they shift the blame now, he questioned.
