JAMMU, June 20: The irate activists of BJP took out a protest march in Vijayupur today against power and water crisis which has engulfed the Jammu region soon after the Darbar move to Kashmir Valley.
The protest rally was led by BJP senior vice president and Prabhari Kashmir, Chander Parkash Ganga. The protestors shouting slogans against the Government held its wrong policies responsible for prevailing power and water crisis.
The rally, which started from Vijaypur Railway road after passing via Main Bazar, canal culminated at Highway.
Addressing the demonstrators Mr Ganga took the State Government to task for the prevailing power and water crisis in Samba district. He alleged that the farmers of the area whose agriculture is totally dependent on electricity could not irrigate their land because the power crisis has completely affected the pumping system in the area.
Ganga said that in case the situation persists like this the farmers who can’t irrigate their fields properly will suffer a huge loss and the Government will be responsible for the same. He said the farmers who are totally dependent on the agriculture produce are totally perturbed but the Government is unmoved.
He said the Coalition Government has proved a total failure on all fronts as it lacks proper planning. He also took the UPA Government at Centre to task for increasing corruption in the country and price hike. Increasing corruption coupled with price hike has hit the common Indian a hard and he has lost his purchasing power. Ganga asked the people to raise their voice against the wrong and anti people policies of both UPA at Centre and Coalition Government in the State.
Others who addressed the rally included Keshaw Dutt Sharma, district president, Subash Verma and Pawan Bakshi Mandal presidents, Som Dutt Verma district vice president, Vinod Sharma and Master Madan Sarpanchs and Mr Tarseem Mandal president BJYM.
