BJP protests against renaming of Bahu Fort locality

JAMMU, Feb 25: Up in arms against purported renaming of Bahu Fort locality as Shahabad Basti by the Government, Bharatiya Janata Party activists held a strong protest demonstration, here today.
Led by Rajeev Charak, State Convenor Training Cell BJP, the BJP activists raised slogans against the local MLA and MP for their alleged support to the Government over the move.
“It seems that local MLA  Raman Bhalla and  MP  Madan Lal Sharma have sold themselves in the hands of this Government, which is hell bent to hurt the sentiment of Jammu people,” they alleged and accused National Conference as well as Congress of giving a step-motherly treatment to Jammu and its people.
Addressing the protesters, Mr Charka said that people of Jammu would not allow renaming of Bahu Fort area as Shahabad.
Ravinder Raina, State president BJYM, also addressed the protest demonstration, alleged a deep rooted conspiracy of the Kashmiri rulers to rub the golden history of Dogras and their monuments.
Anu Radha Charak and   Eshant Mahajan, asked Tufail Mattu, Managing Director J&K State Cable Car Corporation Ltd to correct the name and publish it as Bahu Fort instead of Shahabad near Bahu Fort.
Other who spoke during the protest,  included Ashish Sarin Hardesh Khokhar, Eshant Mahajan, Capt Moti Lal, Amit Gupta,  Ravi Sharma, Ravi Kumar,  Raj Kumar Pangotra, Ramesh Kaloiya, Neeraj Gupta, Bodh Khokhar, Sushama Verma, Sohan Verma, Rajinder Patiyal, Anil Patiyal, Jameet Pajgotra, Krishan Lal Sharma Tinku Malakar  and  Som Nath Khajuria.
