JAMMU, June 23: To commemorate the Balidaan Divas (Matrydom Day) of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookherjee, State BJP organize a programme at Party Headquars here today.
On the occasion floral tributes were paid to this great leader by BJP Senior National leader & former Union HRD Minister Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi and other BJP leaders. Paying rich tributes to Dr. Mookherjee, Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi said that this is a very auspicious day for the party activists of Jammu & Kashmir in particular as this tallest leader of his times for whom nation, national interests and full integration of the State with the rest of the country was the top agenda.
Shamsher Singh Manhas said “this is the day for remembrance as well as taking pledge to devote our precious time for the nation by following the path shown by Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookherjee whose whole life was committed for the nation and Jammu & Kashmir in particular”.
Dr. Nirmal Singh said that State of Jammu & Kashmir is passing through hard times and the political atmosphere here is once again making us think as to how we should work in unison to defeat the anti-national forces which are posing threat to the unity and integrity of the country.
Ashok Khajuria said that Dr. Mookherjee set an example for us to follow and it is because of his sacrifice that permit system was abolished in the State. Dr Jitendra Singh, Sat Sharma (CA), Rajesh Gupta, Bali Bhagat, Usha Choudhary, Kavinder Gupta, Shiv Kumar Gupta, Yudhvir Sethi, Purnima Sharma, Shilpi Verma, Ramesh Arora, Balbir Ram, Arun Chhibber, Rajesh Gupta, MLA Shyam Choudhary, Sakina Bano, Chaman Lal Kanathia, N.D. Rajwal, Aseem Gupta, Karan Singh, Jaideep Sharma, Ramesh Sharma, Praduman Singh, Sat Pal Choudhary, Rajni Sethi, Surinder Bhagat, Dinesh Gupta, Ashok Kumar were prominent among others who paid their floral tributes to Dr. Mookherjee.
Meanwhile, the Ladakh unit of BJP also organized a function at Leh in the memory of Dr. Mookherjee which was attended by State General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul, State General Secretary Satish Sharma, Party MLA Jugal Kishore Sharma and local senior leaders. They took the pledge to work for spreading the ideology of Dr. Mookherjee among the masses.
