JAMMU, Mar 21: Glowing tributes were paid to Sher-e- Duggar and protagonist of Praja Parishad Movement Pt Prem Nath Dogra by State BJP leaders on the occasion of his 44th death anniversary here, today.
The BJP leaders organized a grand function in this regard at Party Headquarters at Kacchi Chawni and garlanded the portrait of Mr Dogra.
While paying glowing tributes to him, BJP senior leader Chander Mohan Sharma described Pt. Prem Nath Dogra as a far sighted and visionary leader, who in the context of the circumstances prevailing in those days, started politics of strengthening nationalist and patriotic forces in the State by founding Praja Parishad, which stood and fought for total integration of the State with rest of the country. “He embraced all sections of society with core of his heart that is why he was elected president of Brahmin Sabha, president of Harijan Sevak Sangh and Sanatan Dharam Sabha’’, Sharma added.
State vice-president Mamta Singh described Pt. Premnath Dogra as an institution in himself who never compromised on principles and worked to strengthen the nationalist forces in the State.
State vice-president, Yudhvir Sethi said that the life of Panditji will remain to inspire the generations to come and it will also induce the patriotic feelings in them.
State secretaries Vikram Randhawa and Aseem Gupta also spoke on the occasion.
State spokesperson Brig. Anil Gupta said that Pt. Premnath Dogra was widely respected as the prominent leader of Jammu.
Jammu District President Ayodhya Gupta also paid homage to late leader.
Proceedings of the programme were conducted  by State secretary Sanjay Baru.
