REASI, Apr 21: BJP has adopted a resolution condemning State patronage to terrorism and stressed on appropriate action under law against any such State functionary how high he may be placed if he is found committing sedition and instigating anti India passion or conspirating to break the State republic through separatist conspiracy.
The resolution was passed in the first day of Party’s two day Working Committee meeting here yesterday. The resolution was presented by BJP National Executive Member and chief spokesperson of the State, Dr Jitendra Singh and it was seconded by State spokesperson Sanjiv Sharma.
The resolution which dealt with present political scenario in the State drew attention to the fact that the State Government has abandoned the responsibility of being a custodian of the State and instead chosen to challenge the very fabric of State’s existence while the Government of India remains indifferent and turning a blind eye to this all.
The resolution while proposing zero tolerance against terrorism as well as direct or indirect State patronage to terrorism or terrorists accused the State Government of throwing all norms of democratic propriety to winds when members in the State Legislative Assembly including those of ruling NC kept insisting on bringing a resolution supporting return of the body mastermind of 2002 Parliament attack Afzal Guru. These members wanted to pass the resolution on the same lines as brought by Pakistan National Assembly. But on the other hand the Government vehemently rejected the resolution of BJP members to condemn the Pak National Assembly resolution on the pattern of the resolution adopted by Parliament. In the melee speaker violated all norms by suspending BJP MLAs, the resolution added.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah who is enjoying the patronage of Congress High Command in Delhi finds nothing wrong in issuing anti-national, anti democratic and pro separatist statements thereby violating the oath of office, the resolution said.
It said these including the statements on AFSPA withdrawal, linking killing of Panchs and Sarpanchs to inter-personal animosity and supporting Liyaqat Shah.
Taking serious note of the same the resolution further said it is a Government which has officially celebrated and down graded martyrs.
The resolution resolved to strengthen the national forces to frustrate the designs of separatists and their supporters resolved.
Another resolution on plight of farmers was also adopted in the meet which was presented by BJP Kissan Morcha State president Karan Singh and seconded by MLA Sham Choudhary. The resolution dealt with problems of farmers in the State and their Government’s step motherly treatment to them.
Addressing the meeting today BJP National general secretary J P Nadda stressed on strengthening the party at booth level. The Party workers should keep their attention focused on the booth level strategy rather than running around and hankering for prominence in the Party hierarchy. They should also not be bogged down in internal fissiparous issues and should strive to find common ground for working.
Mr Nadda said BJP believes in secular, pluralistic character of the State with strong bonds with the rest of the country. It is for this reason that the BJP seeks taking J&K State in right direction and defeat the designs of sectarian and narrow minded forces. He stressed on social responsibility instead of pursuit for self and self interests.
State Prabhari & MLA, Delhi Jagdish Mukhi in his address said that the unparalleled magnitude of corruption and scams in the rest of the country, it seems, have fostered corresponding scams and corruption in J&K as well under the patronizing and inspiring Congress and NC leadership.
Notwithstanding the politics of coercion and blandishments by the Congress, the public perception of the Centre’s rule is not going to become favourable and BJP rank and file should be able to cash on it. The biggest hurdle for smooth and swift progress and prosperity of the State in Article 370 and sooner it goes better it would be for the common people of the State.
On the occasion State president of the Party, Jugal Kishore Sharma announced appointment of Dr Sonam Dawa as state vice president. He said this step was taken to give effective representation to the people of Ladakh region in the Party.
BJP Legislative Party leader Ashok Khajuria, National Executive members Dr Nirmal Singh and Shamsher Singh Manhas were among others who addressed the meet.
During the session Morcha presidents gave briefing to organizational general secretary  Ashok Kaul regarding the functioning of the Party. He urged them to organise the Working Committee meetings regularly.
