Industrial sector at verge of closure

SAMBA, May 19: Provincial president of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta while accusing the Union Territory Administration of utter failure on all fronts, has asserted that major developments across the erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir took place during the National Conference governance and the same has nose dived virtually to nil during the incumbent BJP proxy governance in J&K.
The senior NC leader stated this while addressing the party workers meeting held in Samba today. The meeting was organised by NC leader Mohinder Singh and presided over by Sudagar Chand Gupta District president Samba. Rattan Lal Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion.
Prominent among others who accompanied the Provincial president at the meeting were Vijay Lochan – head SC Cell, Abdul Ghani Teli- OBC Cell and Pardeep Bali Provincial Secretary, Master Noor Hussain Ex-MLC and many senior NC leaders. While the meeting discussed and deliberated upon the issues and problems being faced by the general public of Samba District, the main focus was on Panchayat and Local Bodies elections.
Rattan Lal Gupta while highlighting the achievements of the erstwhile NC Government said that it was during NC rule that Industrial sector was established both at Samba and Bari Brahmana industrial areas as a result of which thousands of workers got jobs in these industries. He said that Dr Farooq Abdullah deserves full credit for ensuring that 90 per cent workers provided jobs in interest were locals only and 10 per cent from outsiders.
He lamented that today industrial sector in J&K is on the verge of closure due to wong industrial policies of Central/ UT Govts including GST Department with workers being on roads. He said that Samba industrial growth centre has been totally ignored by the present LG’s Administration.
Gupta said that people are decrying for power and drinking water facilities and have been compelled to come on roads at many places across the Kandi belt and border region.
Asserting that NC Government alone is the solution to end the miseries of people, he directed the party cadre especially the workers to gear up for the upcoming Panchayat and Local Bodies elections.
Those who were present in the meeting included: Ashok Kumar Attri, Rajni Devi, Balbir Singh, Bua Ditta, Ravinder Jasrotia, Hussain Din, Rajeshwar Singh and others.
