JAMMU, Apr 6: The vice president (VP) of BJP SC Morcha Narinder Kesar tendered his resignation from the party while accusing the BJP leadership for cheating SC/ST/OBC people of the State by making false promises before 2014 elections.
Addressing a press conference here today, Narinder Kesar said BJP president, Ravinder Raina had promised people belonging to SC, ST and OBC communities before 2014 elections that their demands like extending jurisdiction of National Commission for SC, ST, OBCs in J&K, timely disbursement of scholarships to students, construction of SC hostels in Kashmir, clearance of pending backlog in recruitment and regularization of daily wagers in different departments of the State Government, will be fulfilled if party comes to power in the State.
Kesar said on the request of Ravinder Raina, a large number of people from these communities joined BJP and worked with him for the victory of the party and also ensured win of Raina from Nowshera. “However after winning and coming to power, the BJP leadership forgot all promises made with these communities and even after giving many reminders by me, Raina did nothing to fulfill his promise and continued to give fake assurances,”
The BJP SC Morcha leader said what to say of fulfilling promises made before elections, even BJP snatched ‘Reservation in Promotion’ right of the employees belonging to SC/ST/OBC communities. He further lambasted the BJP for not giving representation to SC community in Upper House and adequate berth in the Ministry.
Kesar said as BJP utterly failed to fulfill its promises made with SC/ST/OBC people, he is sending his resignation to Party State president, Ravinder Raina.
