Srinagar, Oct 31: The Bhartiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Kashmir Unit today demanded immediate removal of Deputy Commissioner, and Superintendent of Police, Kulgam for failing in safeguarding the lives of its political workers.
Talking to media persons on the sidelines of an event that was organized to pay tributes to three of its political workers who were killed a few days back in Kulgam, BJP’s state spokesperson, Altaf Thakur said that concerned SP has turned out to be incompetent.
“We have given a timeframe to the Government demanding immediate removal of the concerned SP as well as the DC, if that did not happen, we will come on roads,” he said.
He said that there have been 6 attacks so far and in these attacks, 5 people have been killed. “It has happened within the radius of 3 kms. It depicts that the concerned SP is incompetent,” he said.
Thakur said that he (the SP) has not been able to do anything so far. “He has not even submitted any report on these killings. He has not been even able to prove who carried out these attacks.”
He alleged that they are getting weird responses from the police in demand of providing the security to the political workers. “We have been asking for security, but we are being told let’s see about it when anything happens. In Bandipora there was carelessness, but here there was no security at all,” he said.
