JAMMU, Apr 21: Accusing BJP of having sold its every single slogan and fundamentals for power, former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla today said it had proved that lust knew no bars, no red lines.
Accusing the BJP of bartering away the pride and honor of people of Jammu region to satisfy its lust for power, he appealed Jammuites to oppose, expose and depose the BJP’s Juggernaut for its demagoguery and sheer opportunism. He was addressing a public gathering in Gandhi Nagar Constituency today.
He said that the 10 months rule of BJP was a grimy tale of failures and betrayals with none of its elected representatives raking up the promised issues of Jammu region.
Bhalla making a mention of the tall announcements made by the BJP during elections regarding Empowerment of Jammu, Delimitation of Assembly constituencies, end of discrimination against Jammu region and ensuring it equitable treatment, issuance of Dogra Certificate to Jammu youth, grant of State Subject rights to West Pak Refuges, abolition of Custodian Department and conferment of ownership rights to its occupants, right to vote in Assembly Elections and local bodies to WPRs, reservation of 5 seats for PoJK migrants and 3 seats for Kashmir migrants, 33 per cent reservation for women in Assembly, State subject and property rights to children of daughters of J&K married outside with non state subjects, provision of six per cent vertical reservation to ex-serviceman and martyr’s families along with slogan of ‘Ek Nishan, Ek Vidhan’, he regretted that all the said slogans fell flat with hardly any initiative taken by BJP to ensure their incorporation in the Agenda of Alliance.
Bhalla slammed BJP for its failure to ensure resolution of the burning issues of Jammu region including roll back of Service Tax on Helicopter services to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji Shrine, removal of apprehensions on Jammu AIIMS, announcement of Smart City for Jammu. Congress got the approval for the Refugees Package but BJP wound it up ignoring the aspirations of refugees. It was Congress which upgraded medical treatment standard in Jammu by opening Super Specialty Hospital Jammu, 200 bedded Children Hospital at Gandhi Nagar, providing medical staff at districts and sub district hospitals besides upgrading all the district hospitals with latest diagnostic equipments, said the former Minister. “We even prepared projects to develop tourists spots in Jammu region from Jammu to Poonch and Kathua to Doda but BJP has only spoiled the development of Jammu,” said Bhalla.
