BJP stages protest on Coalgate scam

JAMMU, Sept 12: As part of nation-wide series of protests, BJP today staged demonstration on the issue of Coalgate scam in the winter capital.
The BJP leaders led by State president Shamsher Singh Manhas this afternoon protested against the Congress for involvement of Union Government in Coalgate scam.
Carrying placards and banners, protestors amid slogans ‘Koyle ki dalali hai, saari Congress kali hai’, ‘jab jab Congress aayi hai, Brahshtachar layi hai’, the BJP activists demanded resignation of the Prime Minister.
“The successive Congress Governments after independence worked on the sole agenda of promoting nepotism, corruption and shielding the corrupt elements,” Mr Manhas said while addressing the demonstrators.
He further said for Congress the nation and the welfare of masses has no place in its scheme of things. It focuses on the ways and means to loot the public money and caused loss to the tune of thousands of crore of rupees to the national exchequer.
National Executive Member Dr. Nirmal Singh said that the people across the country has resentment against Congress as it has gifted the nation with one scan after the other are looking towards BJP with high hopes to emerge as an alternative in 2014 general elections.
National Executive Member and MLA Ashok Khajuria said that while the Congress-led UPA at the Centre has crossed all limits of governance, the Coalition Government in the State is black mailing the Centre to mint out maximum funds on one pretext or the other.
National Executive Member & State Chief Spokesperson Dr. Jitendra Singh said that the present set- up has got so perverted that corruption and scams have been accepted as a normal way of life and therefore the BJP’s country-wide campaign against Coalgate will help sensitize the nation against this malaise. Referring to various scams in J&K, he said that scams like JKCA and NRHM have been executed with such innovativeness as if it was a scientist’s invention.
State Vice President Chander Prakash Ganga said that the BJP cadre has been seen on roads registering protests on the issues which have been badly affecting the common man. BJP State general secretary Sat Sharma (CA) conducted the proceedings while Trade & Industry Cell Convenor Vikram Randhawa proposed the vote of thanks.
