JAMMU, Oct 18: Led by Member of Parliament & BJP J&K Incharge Avinash Rai Khanna, a team comprising of senior leader Th. Ranjit Singh, State general secretary, Rajiv Jasrotia, MLA Durga Dass, District President Vijay Sharma, Ex-MLA Prem Lal and others visited various camps at Kana Chak, Plot, Haripur, Madeen, Nagial, Haria Chak, established for the border people who got displaced due to heavy Pak firing and shelling.
The team members interacted with the families which are putting up in these temporary camps, enquired about the relief given to them and also took stock of the problems being faced by them.
Avinash Rai Khanna, while expressing sympathies with these families, said that the Party stands with them stating that immediately after the recent horrific floods, the Central Government under the Prime Ministership of Narendra Modi was prompt in coming to the aid of the State Government and rescue of the victims.
He said the BJP-led Central Government would see to it that the inmates of these camps are duly helped and assisted to resume normal life. No effort would be spared in helping the victims in their rehabilitation. The BJP feels that leading normal life safely by the victims is of paramount importance and the State Government is duty bound to bring this about as the Central Government has already assured that it is ready to provide every kind of assistance, he added.
He demanded that  the State Government should allot a 5 marla plot to each affected family away from the firing range of the Pak forces at the borders as this alone would ensure their normal existence. He also said that State Government should immediately compensate these victims for the losses of their standing crops which they have not been able to reap because of the firing from the Pakistan. He also said that those persons who got killed and injured should be suitably compensated. He assured that the cause of these affected families will be taken up with the Union government and every effort will be made to ensure early assistance from the Centre for the losses and damages.
Prem Nath Dogra, Rashpal Verma, Parkash Sharma, Mukesh Padha, Som Raj, Janak Bharti also accompanied the BJP team.
