“BJP to strive for equitable distribution of resources”

Jammu, Jan 7:  BJP MLA from Gandhi Nagar Constituency today asserted that BJP will pursue its agenda of seeking equitable distribution of resources between the three regions of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh for holistic and inclusive development of the State. “The uniqueness of the State lies in its unity in diversity and to maintain this distinct feature, the three regions must get equal opportunities of progress and development”, Gupta said at felicitation function, held at Langar Panchayat, Greater Kailash,Kunjwani, Uttam Nagar, Dilli here this afternoon.
He said “People’s trust has been a source of strength which enabled them to withstand the challenges and sail out of difficult situations from time to time”, he said and hoped that the people will continue to bestow their patronage to BJP. He appreciated the spirit of cohesiveness among the people and said their deep longing for peace and development in an atmosphere of harmony between the regions has been a defining factor that cannot be ignored in any circumstance.
Gupta lauded the valour and political wisdom of the people of constituency who braved a tough situation and demonstrated their will during the just concluded elections. He said he will repay the debt of love, affection and support offered to him by devoting himself to the development of this important constituency. He reiterated that the vision of transforming Gandhi Nagar shall remain his agenda for the next six years. “And with a sense of commitment, I assure you that we will achieve what we have aimed for this area”, Gupta maintained. Gupta referred to the crucial role played by young people of the constituency and said their empowerment in terms of employment and other avocations will be an agenda to fulfill in the next few years. “There should be no reason for despair, as we are determined to get even more than what is due for the development and empowerment of this constituency”, he said and called for a collective effort to achieve this. He said the grit and determination demonstrated by the people during most crucial and testing days infused a renewed hope in him to seek an enviable place for Gandhi Nagar in the developmental profile of the State. Gupta expressed his gratitude to young, old, women and the new voters for the support they extended to him during elections and said he will do everything possible to meet their expectations.
Earlier Gupta offered prayers at Gurdwara Bibi Chand Kour and Bawa Ajit Singh in the afternoon and greeted the gathering on the occasion of Gurpurab and assured to consider their demands submitted to him by the State Gurdwara Parbandhak Board and District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Jammu members in the form of a Resolution.The DGPC and SGPC members offered Siropa (turban and sword) as honour to MLA and wished him long life and successful career. While speaking on the occasion Gupta threw light on the life and sacrifices of Guru Gobind Singhji and asked the Sangat to follow his foot steps. He appealed the people to promote love, peace and brotherhood in the State.
