JAMMU, Jan 31: Expressing his dismay over the highly objectionable remarks of the Chief Minister made in the Assembly yesterday, dubbing the protagonists of Art 370 abrogation as anti-nationals, Harsh Dev Singh JKNPP Chairman and former Minister today questioned the BJP for their mute silence in the Assembly at the time the controversial speech was delivered rebuking contemptuously the core philosophy of the Saffron brigade.
At a press conference here today he wondered that none of the 25 members of the BJP including Ministers and MLAs could muster enough courage to confront the PDP chief who challenged the very fundamentals and ideological DNA of its junior partner in the Government. When Mehbooba roared in the Assembly yesterday over the issue of Art 370, the Ministers and MLAs of BJP silently acquiesced without uttering a word. He said that it was only the public outrage in Jammu and Central leaders’ bashing that forced the BJP today to meekly seek the expunging of the CM’s remarks.
He said that there could not be a bigger insult to the collect sentiment of BJP and its sister organizations than the one heaped by Mehbooba Mufti by such abominable comments and then firmly standing by her words.
Decrying the conduct of BJP leaders who earlier became a party to the decision of Ex-gratia and Government jobs to stone pelters and amnesty to anti-nationals, Singh said that they could not camouflage their real intent and character by their nauseating vague assertions in the Assembly. He said that calling the opponents of Art 370 as anti-nationals, the CM had hurled the insult upon the Saffron party.
Calling upon the BJP to withdraw from Government, Singh re-iterated and reminded the BJP that brokering a deal with PDP was like borrowing from shylock which would ultimately cost it a pound of flesh in the form of Jammu’s self respect and pride.
Gagan Pratap Singh general secretary Young Panthers and Parshottam Parihar State Secretary PTU were also present during the press conference.
