BJP surrendered Jammu’s interests for power lust: NDP

Excelsior Correspondent

JAMMU, Mar 1: Describing BJP’s act of setting side its core issues like Article 370, AFSPA and even main issues of its ‘Vision Document’ like settlement of  refugees and CM from Jammu as total surrender;  the National Democratic Party (NDP) has alleged that BJP leadership at the Centre and even in the State has betrayed the people of Jammu and sold their massive mandate given to them in the form of 25 seats for the first time in the history, just for the lust of power.
In an emergency meeting of  the NDP held here today under the chairmanship of Ravi Bakshi its president, the executive body members expressed strong resentment over the way, the BJP leadership has virtually gone for total ‘sell out’. They alleged that BJP leadership has betrayed the people of Jammu and have sold their mandate to the Valley based party. They have compromised on all the vital issues concerning people of Jammu who gave them such a huge  mandate while the PDP maintained its stand respecting the verdict of Kashmir people. The people of Jammu are also unhappy over the role of BJP leadership during recently held Rajya Sabha elections and now seat sharing over MLC elections.
“ They have shown most disrespect to the sacrifice of  Shyama Parsad Mookerji and stabbed the people of Jammu region in the back, who had high hopes from BJP after trying and testing  Congress leadership for long. The PoK refuges and border people had also given its full support to them. But the people of Jammu have been forced to now think as it their big blunder to support this party in the Assembly elections. The BJP leadership has proved spineless and politically weak while negotiating with the PDP over common minimum programme as it compromised its own agenda and main issues of its Vision Document released during recently held Assembly elections. The people of Jammu will not spare its leadership for this major sell out,” Mr Bakshi maintained.
Prominent among those present in the meeting included Rakesh Khajuria (advocate), SC Sharma, Rajesh Gupta (Advocate), A K Atri (adv), Vijay Anand, Pawan Singh, S.Ravinder Singh and RK Khajuria.
