BJP takes exception to Banihal MLA’s act

JAMMU, Nov 1: Dr Nirmal Singh, former BJP State president and member National Executive and Rajeev Charak, State convener, BJP Training Cell and Incharge, Banihal Assembly Constituency expressed grave concern over declaring of holiday by the local MLA Banihal Vikar Rasool and closing the school in Banihal area to conduct a Congress rally there.
Terming it a shameful act they accused the Education authorities of succumbing to the pressure of MLA and said that instead of refusing to close the school the authorities obliged him by declaring a holiday on his behest which is in contravention of the rules.
Dr. Nirmal Singh and Rajeev Charak said that MLA Banihal today declared a holiday during working day and without assigning any reason organized Congress rally and political meeting at Government Middle School, Tajnihal, Zone Ukhral, Tehsil Banihal, District Ramban.
They alleged that all the teaching staff participated in the meeting of Congress, which is against the standing rules for a Government servant. They said that the Congress is playing with the life and the future of next generation of such a remote area like Banihal. They also said that the peoples of the area were also depressed by this act because every three days the political meetings were organized at the premises due to which the studies of students are affected. They said that the ZEO Ukhral , ZEO Khari and ZEO Banihal were not bother regarding this shameful act.
The BJP leaders also contacted DC Ramban and apprised him of the situation created by the Education Department and MLA Banihal. They also urged DC Ramban to inquire the matter and take action against the Education Department authrotieis who closed school on behest of MLA.
