JAMMU, Nov 18: Taking serious exception to the statement of Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad who tried to draw a parallel between Uri terrorist attack and Government’s action against the black money, BJP today demanded an unconditional apology from Congress leader.
Azad’s statements inside and outside the House yesterday are not merely his personal views but also reflect thinking of Congress Party, BJP State spokesperson Brig (retd) Anil Gupta told reporters along with Party spokesmen Balbir Ram Rattan and SS Bijral here today. Castigating Azad for these remarks, Brig Gupta, said “BJP fully sympathizes with the families of those who have lost their lives related directly or indirectly to the ongoing fight against black money but takes strong exception to the comparison made with Uri martyrs by Azad on the floor of the House.”
The statements of Azad clearly demonstrate the thinking of the Congress and it also indicates that Congress leaders have now become habitual to trivialize the martyrdom of the brave soldiers by misusing the word ‘martyr, he said.
He said Congress is trying to politicize the apolitical Indian Army and by drawing comparison between Pak sponsored terrorism and legal action of a popular and elected Government to weed out black money, Congress has provided legitimacy to Pakistan. Besides, the Party  wants to protect black money it and its leaders have by using the name of poor. “It was in the name of ‘Gareebi Hatao’ that the Congress and its leaders looted the national exchequer and created black money for decades”, reminded Brig Gupta.
While the BJP is reaching out to the families of the martyrs with two to three- fold increase in the compensation paid to the families for their supreme sacrifice, the Congress is belittling their sacrifices by comparing them with suicides and routine deaths.  Rahul Gandhi had coined the term ‘Khoon Ki Dalali’ and regrettably his party is exactly doing the same now, Brig Gupta added.
He said Azad through his utterances has proved that he is  sympathizerof  black money holders and those who are pumping the fake currency in India. The Government’s action against black money has severely impacted not only the black money hoarders within the country but also Pakistan and its vast terror network.  Azad needs to realise that there have been 81,000 deaths all across the country due to Pak sponsored terrorism and no patriotic Indian can ever forgive Pakistan for the same. The party demands unconditional apology from Azad for his such remarks.
