BJP to train 21,000 volunteers to combat COVID: Arvind

JAMMU, Aug 6: Jammu and Kashmir unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is gearing up the process of nominating the Health volunteers at district, Mandal and booth levels across the UT and the exercise will be completed by August, 31 this year.
This was informed by J&K BJP secretary, Arvind Gupta who has been nominated as co-convenor of Health Volunteer Campaign, a programme of the party to train party activists to assist the health system and the people in view of the 3rd wave of COVID-19.
Arvind Gupta said that the party at national level has launched this programme, which is to be followed in every State and Union Territory. He said that for J&K, Dr. Devinder Manyal, general secretary, BJP has been nominated as convenor, with Munish Sharma, Dr. Farida Sheikh, Ishant Gupta as co-convenor, he himself being one of the co-convenors.
The party leader further said that J&K BJP has already nominated four volunteers, each in every district and same number of volunteers is to be nominated at every Mandal and two volunteers each at every booth.
He added that a total of 21,000 activists of BJP will be trained and prepared to be ready at single call in case of COVID-19 reaches at 3rd wave.
Arvind also shared the objective and details related to the Health Volunteers Campaign of the party with the Chief Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory. He was informed by the Chief Secretary that the Government has made all the arrangements to face any situation arising out of the 3rd wave of COVID-19 and that five bedded Corona Care Centres have been established in every Panchayat with the provision of the entire required infrastructure. Arvind also expressed concern over the negligent approach of the people in following the Corona guidelines/SOPs after improvement in the situation which prove to be dangerous at this stage.
