JAMMU, May 16: Former MLA and president of J&K Pradesh Mahila Congress, Indu Pawar today exhorted party workers to expose the anti-poor policies being propagated by the ruling BJP at Jammu. She said that the marginalized and poor are bearing the maximum brunt of the policies of the BJP Government.
Addressing a meeting of party workers today, Pawar regretted that BJP is pursuing anti-poor agenda to protect the interests of big corporate houses. She, however, said that Saffron brigade has been exposed before the countrymen.
Former MLA pointed out that the Government has failed to control the prices of essential commodities. She pointed towards uncontrolled prices of petrol, LPG and other essential items.
Mahila Congress president said that Congress Party’s pro-poor ideology of secularism and unity in diversity was the only way to keep the country as a strong and united. She expressed her anguish that the BJP is adopting oppressive means to snub those who are agitating for just and genuine demands.
She said that to save the interests of big business houses, BJP Government is all out to suppress poor people and farmers who are demanding reasonable prices for their produce.
She reminded that before 2014 general elections, BJP used to hold protest against price rise but now the same BJP has maintained a complete silence on compounding woes of the common masses. She further regretted that every section of the society is bearing brunt of anti-poor policies of Narendra Modi led Government at the Centre.
Pawar said instead of addressing genuine issues of the masses, BJP leaders were unnecessarily stroking controversies by highly provocative statements only to divert the attention of the masses towards the total failure of BJP Government.
