KISHTWAR, Nov 23:
Slamming BJP, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said it was confused on how to sell its policy in the state and was trying to unbalance the political stability here by falsifying facts.
“BJP is fully confused on how to sell its known anti-Jammu and Kashmir policy in the State… As such, indulges in making contradictory statements misleading people by falsifying facts,” Omar said, adding that people of Jammu and Kashmir are well versed with the divisive, sectarian and regional bias nurtured by BJP since its inception.
Addressing rallies in Kishtwar district, Omar cautioned the people, saying that some six months earlier BJP fought Lok Sabha election in Jammu on abrogation of Article 370 and on its policy of One Flag, One Constitution and One President (Ek Nishan, Ek Vidaan, Ek Pradhaan) and today BJP leadership is saying that these are no issues. He said this is only to fool people for vote bank politics.
“Their anti-Government and anti-NC propaganda is nothing but a poll plank to make inroads into the secular and pluralistic ethos of the state and materialise its hidden agenda of unbalancing the political stability and regional solidarity of J&K,” he said.
Omar said National Conference represents the aspirations of people of all regions, sub-regions and all sections of the society, and does not require any certificate from BJP or any other party, as its popularity and faith of masses in NC’s policy programmes are its strengths and credentials.
He said work done by National Conference-led Government in the last six years speaks loud and clear across the State.
The propaganda of BJP and PDP leadership cannot eclipse the light emitting out of the thousands of projects commissioned and completed during the last six years in the State, Omar said.
He listed out his Government’s achievements like establishing Panchayat Raj, enacting legislations like Public Service Guarantee Act, Right to Information Act, introducing third party monitoring, reconstituting Accountability Commission, establishing Vigilance Commission, introducing Result Framework Document (RFD) in all Government departments ensuring outcome of development schemes and transparency in funds spending, and said BJP and PDP cannot belittle these.
Omar criticised PDP for its deceitful policies and trading the interests of J&K for personal ends and said PDP nurtured corruption, nepotism and misappropriation of public money during its tenure.
He said people have witnessed PDP tenure in power and felt the heat of the highhandedness, irregularities and corruption let loose on the society during its term in power.
He said that PDP has fielded corrupt persons in the elections and encouraged all unscrupulous people to join it.
Slamming Congress for taking credit of all the good work done by the government and shifting blames on NC for its shortcomings, he said people will teach Congress a lesson.
He said Congress had opposed creation of administrative units when it was brought before the cabinet by him a number of times and it had at that time said that creation of such units was not their priority, but today it wanted to take all the credit for this achievement.
Recalling the campaigning by him and his party for the Lok Sabha polls for Rahul Gandhi and Ghulam Nabi Azad, Congress found everything good in National Conference, and today it finds all faults in us. He said this has amply cleared the double standard of Congress. (AGENCIES)
