JAMMU, Aug 29: Provincial president of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), Rattan Lal Gupta reaffirmed the party’s commitment to the welfare of the EWS by ensuring the provision of basic necessities such as Roti, Kapda aur Makaan.
Speaking at the joining programme held at party office Jammu today, Rattan Lal emphasized that National Conference, through its vision and manifesto, is dedicated to the overall development and upliftment of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, especially the underprivileged. The programme was organized by Bimla Luthra former MLA and State vice president women wing JKNC.
The senior NC leader lambasted the BJP for its “utter frustration” in the face of the strong alliance between the National Conference and Congress in the upcoming Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted that the BJP’s declining popularity was evident during the recent Lok Sabha elections, where the INDI Alliance, of which NC and Congress are key constituents, gave a major setback to the saffron party. He predicted that the same outcome would be witnessed in the forthcoming Assembly elections, with the INDI Alliance emerging victorious.
Citing major surveys, Rattan Lal stated that the INDI Alliance is poised to secure over 30 seats in the Jammu region alone in the ensuing polls, reflecting the resounding support from the people for a progressive, inclusive, and development-oriented leadership.
Provincial president emphasised that the National Conference in its poll manifesto has committed to implement the National Food Security Act, ensuring food security for all citizens. The party’s manifesto includes significant promises such as providing Rs 5,000 per month to female heads of households to EWS, provide one lakh jobs to J&K youths, offering 12 LPG cylinders per family per year to EWS and provision of free 200 power units for every household.
While welcoming the newly joined members into Party fold, Gupta said that their decision to join the National Conference reflects the growing trust people have in the party’s vision.
Former MLA Bimla Luthra also spoke on the occasion. Senior leaders Bashir Ahmad, Pardeep Bali, Satwant Kour Dogra, Vijay Laxami Datta, Rakesh Singh, Rita Gupta, Tejinder Singh Aman and Joginder Kour were also present.
