BJP using Jammu people as vote bank: Gupta

JAMMU, Apr 16: National Democratic Party Indian (NDPI) J&K president, Rajesh Gupta has claimed that BJP in Jammu has lost faith of its voters as leaders of this party ‘have no concern’ for the genuine issues and problems of Jammu.
In a handout Gupta said that Jammu people never raised voice even for their own rights and never stood united but repeatedly supported ‘power hungry’ BJP leaders. “BJP government has not done any development works. The condition of rural areas in particular is pathetic with people looking for better civic amenities and the government having failed to respond to their genuine concerns,” the NDPI leader maintained adding that Jammu continued to contribute a major part of tax revenue in J&K but still it remained ignored in terms of development, funds allocation and employment.
“People of Jammu are used as vote bank with hardly any regard for their sentiments. The Centre has always focused Kashmir and made Jammu play a second fiddle and this tradition continues even after the abrogation of Article 370,” Gupta said.
