JAMMU, Sept 17: Provincial president of the J&K National Conference, Rattan Lal Gupta has slammed the BJP over its recently unveiled ‘Sankalp Patra’ ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections, calling it a ‘mockery’ of the people’s trust.
Speaking at the youth joining programme, organized by Gourav Kapoor, senior Youth leader of the party here today, Gupta raised sharp question and asked why the guarantees mentioned in the BJP’s Sankalp Patra were not fulfilled during the last decade of BJP rule in the country. Who had sopped the BJP to do so?
“Why is the BJP offering guarantees today when they have had 10 years in power to implement them? This Sankalp Patra is nothing more than a desperate attempt to garner votes from the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said and accused the BJP of failing and betraying the people of J&K, stating that the hollow promises were merely a tactic to manipulate public sentiment.
Rattan Lal pointed out that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have endured a decade of hardships under BJP’s “Achhe Din” slogan, which he claims has remained unfulfilled. “The people of J&K are frustrated and continue to suffer due to the hollow policies of the BJP. In the past 10 years, they have been victims of recruitment scams, inflation, unemployment, inflated power bills, seeing no future of youth in Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier, the programme saw a large number of young individuals joining the JKNC, a clear sign of their growing disillusionment with the BJP’s governance. He noted that the youth of J&K have placed their hopes in the National Conference, seeing it as a beacon of hope for their future.
The youth joining the Party fold today are inspired by the JKNC’s commitment to provide 1 lakh jobs to youth of J&K, implementation of J&K Youth Employment Generation Act within three months, 12 LPG cylinders free of cost to EWS, free travelling of women in all public transport, enhancement of marriage assistance from Rs 50000 to Rs 75000, increase of medical allowance of pensioners to Rs 1000 from Rs 300, Minority Commission to be established, PDS to be strengthened, Provide Rs 5000 PM to the elderly female of each EWS household as promised in our poll manifesto. Senior party leaders were also present on the occasion.
