BJP, VHP leaders’ talks with Admn fail, strike to continue

RAJOURI, Oct 9: While the meeting of  several leaders of BJP, BJYM, VHD, Sanatan Dharam Sabha and other organizations remained unfruitful with the Divisional Commissioner and IGP Jammu besides other senior officers in the administration here this evening.
The meeting which was convened by the Divisional Commissioner Jammu Shantmanu in presence of IGP Jammu Zone, Rajesh Kumar, Deputy Inspector  General of Police  Rajouri-Poonch Danish Rana, Dy Commissioner Rajouri F C Bhagat, SP Mubassar Latiffi and others, was organized to resolve the issue of on going bandh in Rajouri and break deadlock.
During three-hour long meeting, various speakers including senior BJP leaders Kuldip Raj Gupta, Vivodh Gupta, Yogesh Sharma, Satpal and Jagveer  Gupta from VHP, Ranjit Tara from BJYM, Dinesh from SD Sabha and  Rajinder Gupta former president of MC Rajouri presented their view point and strongly demanded that FIR registered against the nine youth including BJYM district president and other activists be withdrawn  and those involved in the attack on RSS activists be arrested. While the senior officers remained non-committal over the demand, these leaders later told the newspersons that bandh in the town would continue till their demand is met.
The second round of meeting was held with the members  of Muslim Welfare Association Rajouri including  Mohd Aslam, Abdul Qayoom Dar,  Haji Rashid Lone, Iqbal Bhat and Shafi Dar besides some relatives of the two brothers allegedly attacked by BJYM activists and other youth on October 4. They presented their view point and demanded that FIR should not be dropped and all those involved in the murderous attack on two brothers should be brought to justice. They also demanded security for three families residing in Naban Mohalla and said that law should do its job fairly. The meeting lasted for about an hour.
Senior BJP leader Kuldip Raj Gupta when contacted said that talks with the administration remained inconclusive. There was no positive assurance from  the senior officers over the demand. Therefore, it was unanimously decided to go ahead with Rajouri bandh tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Hindu Jagaran Manch in its meeting held in Jammu under the chairmanship of Ram Pal Sharma condemned the incident of Rajouri and harassment to the members of  one community by police and demanded that fair investigation be conducted.
