Cong ‘Ki Mohabat Ki Dukan’ shut: Sood

JAMMU, Oct 8: Union Coal and Mines Minister and J&K Election Incharge, G Kishan Reddy termed the BJP’s victory in the Jammu region as “historic,” stating that the party has secured more seats and votes than ever before.
Talking to reporters here, today along with Union Minister in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh, party co-In-charge J&K Ashish Sood, BJP working president, Sat Sharma, Reddy emphasized that the outcome is a testament to the people’s continued support for the BJP.
He highlighted that the party has won the highest number of seats in the J&K Assembly, and reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to working closely with the people for the development of the region.
“The people have given a befitting response to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s comments about Prime Minister, Modi’s leadership. The results of the J&K and Haryana elections clearly show that the public has faith in Modi’s governance,” Reddy said.
Out of the 43 Assembly seats in the Jammu region, the BJP secured 29 seats, while the Congress managed to win only one seat, he added.
He said BJP got a good percentage of votes also and its performance was comparatively better in Kashmir valley.
Reddy while replying to a question on Dr Abdullah’s statement that Omar Abdullah will be elected Leader of Legislative party said BJP is a cadre based party and unlike father son duo party all decisions in BJP are taken in a democratic way and not on dinning table. In BJP leader of Legislative Party will be elected in the meeting of MLAs, he added.
Party co-Incharge J&K Ashish Sood termed the performance of party very good especially in Jammu region. He said we won 29 seats in Jammu region while Congress bagged only one seat though it fought 32 seats in the region.
Sood while criticising National Conference and Congress said they exploited people by raising Pakistan issue. The NC raised sensitive issues from day one of the campaigning and sought vote on the name of opening trade with Pakistan etc to divide the people. The BJP sought vote on development issue, he added.
Sood said tallest leaders of Congress including former Dy CM, Tara Chand and former Minister, Raman Bhalla lost election. The shutter of “Mohbaat Ki Dukan” shut (shop of love was shut both in J&K and Haryana), he added.
He said Congress leaders especially leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi tried to defame PM Narendra Modi after the Lok Sabha elections by launching misinformation campaign against him. He tried to shake his confidence. But PM did not budge and in turn he motivated the party cadre to work hard, he added.
Sood said in Muslim majority areas of Poonch, Surankote BJP is runner up. The party got 6000 votes in Kupwara. He said it is a fractured mandate as no single party has 48 seats for simple majority.
