JAMMU, Aug 4: Taking note of the vitiated politics and desperate attempts to make the atmosphere venomous and fragile, BJP today warned the Valley based parties to stop playing politics on the name of Article 35-A.
Addressing a press conference BJP chief spokesperson, Sunil Sethi, flanked by BJP spokesperson Brig (Retd) Anil Gupta and BJP State Press secretary and media incharge,  Dr Pardeep Mahotra said that  Valley based parties are trying to make the atmosphere fragile for their own interests by irresponsible statements.  He said stand of such parties on 35-A, can be clearly viewed as anti-national and anti-social. They are trying to mislead the common masses by giving an impression that abrogation of Article 35-A is against the interests of State, which is far from truth and in reality, the article has only promoted inequality among the masses. The Article is infact, against the State’s interests and has hampered the progress of State since its inception.
BJP leader said that in last 70 years, the State could not progress with pace as this article has blocked all type of investments from outside the state as the investors from other states are afraid to come to this State. This blocks the employment opportunities for the youth of the State, he said.
Sethi also attacked Provincial president of NC for his statement that the laws were framed by Maharaja Hari Singh.  He said Maharaja  framed State Subject Laws in entirely different conditions to stop the Britishers from purchasing the properties. But after the accession of J&K with rest of India, our state became a unified part of single great Nation and now we are “India”.
He said that at the time of Maharaja, ‘Riyayat-Nama’ and ‘Izazat-Nama’ existed to grant citizenship rights, but the laws were distorted by NC and Congress to deny rights to the Valmiki Sammaj, Gurkha and others. He also said that the laws framed in 1954 were ill intentionally implemented from 1944 to deny rights to West Pak refugees.
Sethi said that refugees living for the past 70 years are being discriminated and denied State Subject benefits. The women after marriage are denied basic rights. Outer technocrats, teachers, scientists, doctors don’t come to state due to this particular law. They have started misinformation campaign out of frustration, Sethi added.
