JAMMU, Feb 14: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has welcomed decision of extending LoC benefit to IB people in the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
The various party leaders have welcomed the decision and termed granting of reservation benefits to IB people at par with LoC people a revolutionary and historic decision.
BJP State president, Ravinder Raina while welcoming the decision said it was a historical move.
Raina, while addressing the media persons at Party Headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu along with BJP State general secretary, Dr. Narinder Singh, former Minister, Sham Choudhary, State secretary, Aseem Gupta, State All Morcha Incharge S. Varinderjit Singh, Ajay Vaid and other senior party leaders said by this decision same benefit will be extended to IB people which were given to LoC people in seeking jobs , educational facilities etc.
He extend the heartily thanks to the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, Home Minister, Rajnath Singh, J&K Governor, Satya Pal Malik for the historic decision. He said due to the persistent and dedicated efforts of Union MoS in PMO, Dr. Jitendra Singh, MP (Lok Sabha) Jugal Kishore Sharma and the senior leaders from J&K BJP, the genuine demand has been fulfilled.
Ravinder Raina, said this historic decision, will benefit about three lakh people living along approximately 198 kms of IB from Samba, Kathua, Jammu etc will be benefitted.
Terming Government’s decision of extending benefits of reservation to people living on IB as historic and revolutionary, Former Minister, Chander Prakash Ganga, extended gratitude to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and Governor, Satya Pal Malik for making an end to this Constitutional glitch and injustice meted out to people of IB in Samba, Kathua and Jammu.
He lauded the vision of PM towards conceding this long pending demand of the IB people saying that granting of three percent reservation to these people in Government jobs, educational institutions etc at par with people living along LoC would definitely transform their lives.
He further expressed gratitude towards MoS, PMO, Dr. Jitendra Singh, who left no stone unturned to get this long pending demand fulfilled. Besides he expressed gratitude to MPs Jugal Kishore Sharma and Shamsher Singh Manhas who took up this matter with the PM during his recent visit to the State.
Ch. Vikram Randhawa, Member Legislative Council (MLC) and youth leader All J&K Jat Sabha has welcomed the decision of the State Government for approving three percent reservation for the people living along International Border (IB) in Jammu.
Randhawa said that it was a long pending demand of the people residing along the IB for which they were struggling since long. He said that Jat community in Jammu resides along the International Border and were facing many hardships as the border in Jammu region be it IB or Line of Control (LoC) with Pakistan remains hostile due to frequent ceasefire violations by Pakistan. Randhawa expressed his gratitude to the Governor Satya Pal Malik also.
Abhinav Sharma, senior Advocate J&K High Court Jammu has welcomed granting of reservations to people living on International Border at par with those of LoC.
In a statement issued here, today he said the people of Marh Constituency in Jammu district are highly excited and they are greatfull to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and MoS in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh for the same.
